we're getting somewhere now

Step 2...Confirm high tipping, zero responsibility, night-time bartending gig and starting date. At no time during the winter will I have to work during the daytime unless I feel like it. Which will leave me approximately 150 days to slash the fuuuuck outta shit and break something important. Bald Mountain is the hill and it's good. Nearby is Jackson and Targhee, Pomerelle, and Bruce Willis' Soldier Mountain. It's like a working vacation. I love Santa Barbara, but as one of my dirtbag ski bum friends says, "it's full of people that I have nothing in common with". It'll be great to get back to a town full of poor people living the dream. Good people. My people.

  2. Dude, you are totally shattering my surf dreams! I just booked another surf trip down to baja to see if that is really what I want to do with my life and now you are moving back to the mtns?? You just threw my surf dreams upside down! Are you telling me its always greener on the other side when I am about to jump the fence to the other side??

  3. whoa what?
I thought you were into sarfing...I was expecting costa rica eco hotelier, not snow. Can you handle those people?

at any rate: sounds like splitboard country.

Reprioritizing and trying to destroy my career. All I really wanna do is "sarf", but it ain't happening nearly enough due to being somewhere in middle management. Responsibility with zero control. I'm rarely sarfed out and that goes agaisnt my morals. So it's time to take a risk.

Sun Valley. Land of groomers. And Bruce Willis.

    I understand the career destruction.

  7. Yah, SV is good, but nothing epic. I ain't moving there for the extreme. I lived there for most of the 90's so I know what I'm getting into. Plenty of of hidden shit.

  9. 10 minutes north of downtown starts the 2nd largest wilderness area in the lower 48. Sawtooths and the White Clouds contain endless slashability. Galena Summit is 1/2 hour north.

  10. I always thought surfing was pretty over rated anyways. Too much paddling....no chairlifts.

  12. Thanks for the love Danny. The plan is to jerk it in Bali for 2 months this fall, then sun valley through ski season...then really tug it hard in peru for a couple months in spring...then get back to pulling stick in SV for the summer....then beat it somewhere new and amazing next fall, etc.
